At Christ Church, we desire to join God in His work of saving the lost and maturing the saints, both locally and globally. We do this by training, sending, and supporting laborers for the Harvest! Each year we send many from our church to serve in short-term projects. We also support over 19 full-time missionaries and organizations. We praise the Lord that of those that we support, nearly half are from our own church! April 25-27, 2008 was our first annual Missions Weekend! We had a great time with 9 of our missionaries with us for at least a portion of the weekend. We were also blessed to have Frank and Jane Severn, formerly of SEND Intl. with us as our speaker. It was a good time for the whole family as we spent time getting to know some of our missionaries. A few of the highlights were the movie night (you can still ask to borrow the movie from Pastor Mike), carnival games, funnel cakes, learning about our missionaries through the questionnaires, cooking the pig in the ground Papua New Guinean style, the international covered dish, Al, Bill and John's News Reporting, Frank's messages, and the Missionaries sharing in the Equipping Classes. If you missed it this year, be sure to come out next year. Sam Nadler, one of our missionaries, will be the keynote speaker, and he will also be leading a Jewish Seder for our international banquet! Please continue to pray with us that the Lord would raise up more laborers from our midst to work in His harvest around the world! (For the protection of those serving in locations which are antagonistic to the gospel, we do not list our missionaries on this web site.) |
