Blood Drive

March 14th, 5:00-8:00pm
Sign up to donate using the form below.

Miller-Keystone Blood Center is an independent, not-for-profit, community organization that serves as the only blood provider to 24 hospitals in Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Chester, Lehigh, Luzerne, Montgomery, Northampton, Philadelphia and Schuylkill (PA), and Warren (NJ) counties; only blood donated through MKBC is transfused at these facilities.

Fifty percent (50%) of the US population is eligible to donate blood, yet only five percent (5%) of those eligible actually donate blood. Blood centers nationwide traditionally run into blood shortages at various times throughout the year. In our region alone, over 300 units of blood are needed each day by patients in area hospitals. Blood is perishable - whole blood has a shelf-life of 42 days, while platelets (which are used to treat cancer patients and burn victims) have a shelf- life of only 5 days! Therefore, it is vitally important to maintain a steady stream of blood donors, in order to ensure the safety and availability of the blood supply for all of us

Prayer Shawl Ministry

What are prayer shawls?  "Care and the love of knitting  (and crocheting) have

been combined into a prayerful ministry that reaches out to those in need of comfort

and solace. Many blessings are knitted into every shawl. The knitter begins each

shawl with prayers for the recipient, and intentions are continued throughout the

creation  of the shawl. When the shawl is completed it is offered a final ritual

before being sent along  its way" (taken from www.shawlministry.com).

Due to the Sportsman Banquet, the next prayer shawl meeting will be held Friday,

March 9th at 6:30pm in the CEC.  Everyone is welcome!  Bring a friend!

Learn how to crochet or knit.  Get new patterns or share your own.
